The Spider, the Cider, and the Rapid are exceptionally advanced long range stabilized electro-optical day/night Automatic Panoramic Intruder/ Detection System, APIDS, which detect with its long-range detection capabilities motion. The real time image is reflected into a wide panoramic view as it scans designated areas. These detection system cameras may be used in sensitive facilities such as: airports, power plants, fuel storage depots, and military bases. There are two modes of operation- the scan mode and observation mode with live video which help recognize and identify specific people or objects. The system is operates from a personal computer. The scan mode allows for motion detection and multiple targets detection that are simultaneously tracked, while observation mode which uses the automatic video tracker, enables to identify and recognize the intruder. There is an option of selecting both Azimuth and elevation dynamic range, by providing a Pan and Tilt Unit that is similarly controlled by the Control and Display Unit (CDU), as the APIDS is. In addition, there is an option of extending their accuracy by installing Eyesafe Laser Range Finder for a better target positioning, and/or Thermal Cameras or Uncooled Cameras that may provide also more accuracy.
These state-of-the-art systems serve as Electro-optical imaging radars that can be used for coastal, border, and perimeter surveillance; they can also help secure ground troops as they advance on the field.
